Ranunculus--or would that be ranunculi?

Found these beauties at the nursery. Although they are spring bloomers, it is still too cold for them outdoors. I love the layers upon layers, and the multi-color varieties are my favorites.

  1. Beautiful colors! I recall seeing Ranunculus in the gardening catalog, but don't recall those vivid colors. Great pictures!

  2. They look like an onion in a way because of all the layers. Only much prettier!

  4. I love that bottom one! Gorgeous! Are they related to artichokes? ;)

  6. Lovely Pat, the last one reminds me of pieces of crepe paper all stacked together. The lines on it are so subtle.

  8. Lovely colors and as always, excellent detail. I agree with Beth - they look (esp. the last) like an onion or garden veg that you would peal and eat. TFS.
