These are from about 10 days ago, when we still had snow on the ground...my nemesis, the Rotten Elk, stopping by to see what's growing. Taken through my living room window.
Hopefully now that DS is here--well, actually his dog--there will be enough dog smell around the yard to cause these pests and the rest of their friends (a group of about 13) to detour to my neighbors' yards!
I like the way the white contrasts with thier brown color. You want them to go and I go out in the evenings "hunting" them. I guess because I don't have anything growing in my yard they would want to eat and destroy. Oh yeah I have 4 dogs.
GREAT shots, Pat, even if they are the bane of your yard's existence. He's kinda cute, isn't he? You know, from a distance...I'd never want to get close to him.
It still amazes me that anyone could live in such a beautiful place with wildlife in and out of their backyard...I know it'a a pain, but still really amazing!!

They look so innocent. ;)
ReplyDeleteWow! I know how irritating it is to have wildlife eating up your yard but that is so cool!

ReplyDeleteI always chuckle when you talk about your pests. This guy's head looks like it doesn't match his body, doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteI think they are cool, but they aren't in my backyard! I think I'd freak. Great pictures!

ReplyDeleteI love seeing your pests, they're so cool to see! But if they were eating my plants, I'd be not so happy. :)
ReplyDeleteIt still amazes me that anyone could live in such a beautiful place with wildlife in and out of their backyard...I know it'a a pain, but still really amazing!!
ReplyDeleteI guess I won't complain about my rabbits anymore! Beautiful pictures of a "pest".
ReplyDeleteSend them over my way, Pat, just for a week til the novelty wears off. :)
ReplyDeleteSo sad that you want them to go away - they are so beautiful!! ;)
ReplyDeleteYou see...this is something I would just LOVE to see. {unlikely since I live in a subdivision....many dogs, many kids...all that good stuff} Gorgeous!
ReplyDelete13!!!!! That's a lot of elk! In western ND, last week, there was a moose on a guy's roof. . . keep these bad boys off your roof!
