Yes, it's true--the bluest skies you've ever seen are in Seattle...we have had two consecutive days of sun!! And another one tomorrow, followed by days of rain. But now it is almost 68 degrees and the sky is blue, the birds are singing, and I have been out in the yard clearing the winter coat of moss off my gardens and doing some clean-up. I have to make haste, because once the rain starts and the temps drop back into the 40s who wants to be out in the yard??? This is my neighbor's corkscrew weeping willow. I love the yellow willow-green in the early spring, and seeing against that blue sky makes my heart sing. Haven't touched the color, other than sharpening for the web.
I love these little treasures. This is a hydrangea petal skeleton. Imagine this a lovely shade of hydrangea blue; now you know what underlies all that color!

That blue sky is wonderful! We're having a beautiful day here, too. That last shot does look like something from the sea!
ReplyDeleteLove the blue sky! The petal skeletons look like they belong in the ocean.
ReplyDeleteVery cool skeletons!
ReplyDeleteIncredible blue and gosh...what detail!
ReplyDeleteYay for your finally springlike weather!!! It actually snowed a ittle here in IN, what is wrong with this picture?! LOL. I love those petal skeletons, I've been finding leaf skeletons around the yard lately too, they are so intricate- like lace! :)
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful pictures - love the blue sky and those delicate leaves.
ReplyDeleteThe skeletons really are intriguing. I love hyderanga's they bring to mind my grandmother's huge bushes in her side yard. I loved going to her house, and just "clipping" a few and throwing them in a vase, easy peasy. Can't beat that for instant smile.
ReplyDeleteSomething about a gorgeous spring day- when you know you have to treasure it because they are far and few between...
Very cool skeletons!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you are getting some spring weather! Those skeletons are so neat...they look so delicate and beautiful!
ReplyDeletePat, I bet you have an absolutely gorgeous garden!

ReplyDeleteGlad your getting some good outdoor weather. I have never heard of a cork screw willow and I love willo trees. Here is another I dont think I have ever seen a hydranga leaf like that omg so cool.
ReplyDeleteI've never heard of that kind of willow. What a beautiful blue sky, and I love those leaf skeletons. Glad you got to enjoy the sunshine and warmth--it's been like (rainy) Seattle around here.
ReplyDeleteThat is one glorious blue sky, too bad it's not going to stick around for much longer! The leaf skeletons are so cool, I've never seen one for a hydrangea. I do love hydrangea flowers and really want to plant one, I'll have to read up on when is the best time to do that. :)
ReplyDeleteGlad you have experienced some warmer weather, Pat, even just for a short time. That sky is soo clear and blue , a perfect background for the crazy willow.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the petal skeletons , an amazing network, they look like they belong on a sea bed.
Two days of sun! Isn't that a record for Seattle? I'm glad your taking advantage of the sunshine! Great pix!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous. We had two days of that last week...and last night it snowed. :-(
ReplyDeleteThose blue skies are hopeful! I just love the cool texture on those leaves.
ReplyDeleteSo Pat, when do we get a photo of your whole garden??!! Would love to see the whole thing!! ;) Love the blue skies - here it's gray, rainy...
ReplyDeleteThe petal skeletons are so cool!
ReplyDeleteI love the skeletons! I don't think my hydrangea has skeleton leaves like that. . . but it will be a while yet before I can even get close to them. . . I'm glad you're getting a chance to get in the yard between "seasons"!
ReplyDeleteAmazing Pat!! I love the skeletons from the petals. I had NO idea that's what they looked like!
