Blues and Yellows
Made a flying stop at the nursery the other day, and this Japanese iris was sobbing to go home with me....and I really, really wanted to take it home, too, but I knew that it had a life expectancy of maybe a week before the deer or elk found it. I refuse to plant a buffet. So, I consoled myself with photos. The colors, the sensuous curves,...oh, man, I WANT THIS!!!

If I were a plant, I would beg to go home with you, too! But that's funny that you don't want to plant a buffet! :) The deer here love to munch the blooms off the tulips. Love the yellow in that second shot!

ReplyDeleteSimply stunning (and admittedly seductive) iris and I love coloring of the daisies. I suspect we have been having deer guest in my front shrub/day lily flower bed as the flowers/buds have been picked off and there is a flattened area. I'm going to charge rent if they don't move it along!

ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you got to the Botanicla Gardens, hopefully you were able to get at least a few good shots. I've been trying to get there for a couple of weeks now but have been too busy. I was out there at the end of April and was SO disappointed that they had totally ripped out that big perennial garden and were replanting it :(
