Ready, Set, Go

Due to the mess the weather has made of the mountain passes (mudslides and avalanches), all the major passes have been closed for several days. The semis line the freeway near our house, waiting for the pass to open so they can get rolling and get back to work. Although you can't read it, the sign in the photo says "Pass Closed".
(This morning the roads were clear enough to allow traffic through the pass, and now the shoulders are clear, and commerce continues.)

  8. Neat idea for a picture (and educational for those who don't live in mountainous regions!)

  11. I couldn't believe it when all the passes AND I-5 were closed. It's been a pretty incredible winter weather-wise thus far don't you think?

I'm going to miss spending time with you tomorrow, but I totally understand why you want to stay close to home. I hope Rick is feeling better soon and that all goes perfectly smoothly on Friday.

  13. I've been hoping you've been ok, with all the scary news coming from out your way. You certainly get very interesting things to look at all around you!

  15. I feel for them, I've been stuck in long lines of traffic when I-80 closes. It just happened to me a couple of weeks ago, but thankfully only for four hours. How fun that you thought to "shoot" them! :)
